Hey what's up y'all
I'm a full-time software engineer based out of Boston, and I like building stuff.
I earned my Bachelor's in Computer Engineering in December 2018, with a focus on systems and software. Since then I've worked on performance tooling and pipelines at Google, and now on security assurance & compliance at Amazon.
A bit more about me
As a kid I was always creative and liked to write, which I leverage now to build cool stuff and describe what I'm working on with a bit of flare.
My coursework in college varied from electronics and embedded systems, through to programming languages and distributed systems. I spent a lot of time in a high-performance computing research lab, and was exposed to some co-processor based acceleration techniques. And beyond that I had fun at a variety of hackathons, learning and building. And I spent some time volunteering as a civics teacher. And doing environmental conservation outreach. And leading pub crawls. And exploring Boston (love this city).
Outside of work I enjoy working on personal projects, some tech-related, some not. I own too many longboards. I also read a lot; some of my favorite recent books have been the Fifth Season series by N.K. Jemisin, an apocalyptic end of the world told in a time-meandering stop-and-go, and the Cosmere series by Brandon Sanderson, a galaxy-spanning tale of magic and morality.
Zach has shown great citizenship/mentorship... coordination and leading focus.... very easy to collaborate with.
Zach is a strong individual contributor.... performing far above expectations.... he's a sponge for knowledge.
Zach's a kindhearted teddy bear.
You won't be getting a quote from me!
